I really enjoy traveling and find it is a great time to noodle around in my sketchbook. It is a fun way to journal my travel adventures and practice drawing.
I carry two basic supplies, a 5″ X 7″ blank page spiral book and a black fine tip marker which fits into my travel bag. I ask my critical self to move out of the way so I can relax and draw. I will often use a map as inspiration for a page and will add other objects to the page.
The wild flowers were in bloom on one of my visits to North Carolina. My inspiration for several pages came from an identification book that I purchased at the park museum gift shop.Sometimes I will travel with my watercolor pencils and add color. This page has journal notes too.
What about trying this yourself? On your next trip, pack a notebook, a pen and start your own travel adventure sketch book.
