How do you learn best?

Are you interested in understanding more about how you learn best?  Here is an example, if you need directions, do you prefer to have a list, a map, a verbal description or to have someone show you?

Neil Fleming has developed a website:   Vark – A Guide to Learning Styles, that has a quick questionnaire which provides you with an assessment of the learning styles that you use most comfortable using.  There are five styles that he focuses on which include visual, aural, read/write, kinesthetic and multimodal.  Can you image that the learning style of an artist would be visual,  a singer would be aural, an English professor would be read/write and a sports professional would be kinesthetic?

It was exciting for me to recognize my own learning styles.  I make an effort to have pictures, charts, descriptions and conversations on a topic that I am learning since my most comfortable learning styles are visual and aural.  Having a tutor, a coach or a video clips to watch will accelerates my learning and understanding of a topic.

What about you?  How do you learn best? When you visit this site, be sure to find the helpsheets with guides and methods for each learning style. Check it out!
