Architectural images on Tile

Sarah Horn is using architecture as her inspiration in creating a collection of ceramic tiles.  There is a combination of intimate views and big picture building views.  I find her drawing style to be fun and whimsical.  She captures the building features even with a sketchy drawing flavor and the soft colors add to her art expression.  This seems to be a unique focus for ceramic tile and yet it is successful. Take a closer look at her tiles a this website.

I think these ceramic tiles are amazing. Each individual tile can be a conversation piece and tells me about Sarah Horn – where she has been or structures that are intriguing to her. I would love to have an area of tiles that represents me, where I have been in my travels. I really think this is fantastic!

Katey- I am pleased that you find these tiles inspirational. I like that you see them as a conversation piece about the artist. Maybe you will have a travel sketchbook that shows images of where you have been! Take care- Prof. Stephanie

I just posted about a drawing I did while on vacation (doing so made me think of you) and then seeing this, I feel like the possibilities are endless if I continue to draw when I travel! Sooo cool!

  3. I just came onto your post and found it quite interesting. I am also associated with tiles uk, swimming pool tiles, commercial tiles, and love to enjoy the stuff on the same as its rarely found on internet. Thanks again for writing such a good post.
